My Journey into Beekeeping
Eighteen years ago, when I first began my beekeeping journey, I had the good fortune to meet Dr. Joe Carson, a master beekeeper who generously shared his knowledge and expertise with me. I was an eager student, always asking questions and seeking guidance on how to best care for my buzzing friends. Through reading, hands-on experience, and occasional failures, I continued learning and growing alongside my bees.
Dr. Carson recognized my meticulous approach and passion for beekeeping, further encouraging me to delve deeper into the field. I joined the local beekeeping club, subscribed to all the relevant magazines, and eagerly attended beekeeping seminars. This continuous learning process is something I still actively pursue today.
As Dr. Carson became increasingly involved in research and development of bee food products, traveling the world to observe different beekeeping practices, he sought someone to take over his bee import business in Alaska.
This is where my story truly began. Recognizing my dedication and attention to detail, Dr. Carson entrusted me with this responsibility. Filled with passion, I embraced the opportunity and grew the business fourfold.
In 2010, we relocated to the continental United States, establishing Northwest Bee Supply. Now, as the largest bee supplier in the Northwest, we deliver over 2,200 bee packages throughout the region, reaching as far as Western Montana.
While originally focused on importing packages, circumstances led us to discover the benefits of nucs. Thanks to Tom and Steve, fellow beekeepers, we now offer high-quality nucs alongside packages, providing both new and seasoned beekeepers with a strong starting point for their apiaries.
Tom's apiary, a family-run business with over 40 years of experience, produces exceptional bees. Together, we provide the Northwest with healthy bees and essential beekeeping products, including our Super Pollen Patties fortified with Dr. Carson's special additives.
This brief insight into my beekeeping journey serves to highlight our origin and guiding principle: "With a great product, the rest is easy."
We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support and eager to continue serving your beekeeping needs.
